Frequently Asked Questions
At Elite Smiles, our approach is what makes us different! Our team looks at the whole body approach, meaning while we want to help with your dental concerns and needs we might be able to help identify other issues you might be experiencing and not realizing are connected.
No. We are a fluoride free office and do our absolutely best to find the most bio compatible materials to use. We also have an alternative recommendation for Fluoride called Hydroxyapatite. Our team would be happy to elaborate on this for you too!
Being a holistic office, many dental insurance companies do not share the same mindset as we do when it comes to overall wellness for our patients. Meaning, they are limiting us on what we find the best recommendations for our patients, leaving patients with denied claims. We prefer to be able to have transparency with our patients and provide the costs for our services up front. Please note, that ultimately for the year 2025, Elite Smiles goal is to become out of network with all dental plans.
Absolutely! We would be happy to submit your claim to your dental insurance even though we are out of network.
Essentially what it means to patient’s, is that our office will collect our full rates from the patient on the date of service that they are seen. We will then submit the claim as a courtesy for the patients. If the patient’s plan has out of network benefits then theoretically the dental insurance would be reimbursing the patient for the services based on their benefits and the fees with their plans fees.
Yes! We do remove amalgam fillings in our office. We follow the SMART protocol and this is a process that we take seriously, not only to protect our patients but our entire team preforming these procedures daily.
While for some, root canals might still be a suitable option, our doctors would rather the opportunity to discuss other alternatives based on the patient’s needs.
We do require x-rays as they are a critical part of the diagnostic process. We conduct these x-rays annually unless there is an emergency then a possible additional image might be needed. All of our x-rays are digital and have the least amount of radiation exposure.
We do! We see everyone from children to adults. For kiddos, we are always happy to see them in our office and we will do our best to complete, however sometimes we are not able to complete much based on what the child will tolerate. We do not ever want to contribute to any dental trauma (as we know that is a very real experience). Generally around the age 4-5, we have found that kiddos will tolerate a little bit more and we are able to communicate effectively with them.
We do not use any sedation in our office on a normal basis for children or adults. There are some cases where our team can help coordinate an anesthesiologist to be in the office. In these instances, the financial cost of adding these services would fully be the patient’s responsibility.
We do! There are correlations in the anatomy of the mouth that can indicate mouth breathing and other airway concerns. Our doctors and team can help with Sleep Apnea and find solutions for you.
